Pleasantview, Season 3 - Pleasant (Daniel)

Poor Angela hasn’t come to terms with the divorce as quickly as her sister.

She looks really sad all the time, even when she’s doing stuff she enjoys like cooking and playing games! Poor thing. She can’t wait to go to college.

“Hey Juliette!… Yeah, I can’t wait for college, Dad’s endless stream of women coming in and out of the house is driving me nuts… Oh? No, I’m not going to Le Tour… Yeah, change of plan… It’s not just because of Dustin, okay? Don’t tell anyone, but the truth is my grades have gone to shit anyway… Sure, I’ll still come and visit sometime!”

Chloe had given Daniel Caryll’s number. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her, nothing like this, but her lack of decor was a little off-putting. The dirty pajamas, the farting, the constant pillow fights and tickling… not really his thing.

Still, it was a fun night out. But if only she’d stop calling him!

Another woman he met one night out was Nina Caliente. He was drawn to her like a magnet. He’d never felt anything like it.

“Wow… for the first time in my life, I’m feeling that triple-bolt thing. Think that makes us soulmates?”

“If three bolts means soulmates I’ve had a heck of a lot of soulmates , so I doubt it. I’m down for a quickie in the photobooth if you wanna, though.”

“Hi there, new neighbor. Want to pop in for a coffee?”

“Well, I agree getting to know the neighbors is important, but my daughter’s visiting from Sim State Uni and-”

“Hey! My daughter Angela’s making preparations for that very college. Maybe she could get to know your daughter, and I could get to know you?”

Virginia heads straight for the chess table, as usual.

“So you’re a popularity sim? You should consider getting involved with the sorority, we’re always on the lookout for new members.”

“Wow, I didn’t even consider that! I was thinking of living with my boyfriend.”

“Boyfriend? They’ll be plenty of time for playing house once you graduate. Uni life is about meeting new people, making friends, and parties! Save it for when you’re married.”

“You think?”

“Yeah! Swing by Tri-Var once you enroll and we’ll show you what Greek life has to offer.”

Meanwhile, Sandy and Daniel were busy “getting to know each other”.

Ladies, it’s snowing. Maybe swimming isn’t the wisest activity?

“Hey, bad boy.”

“Ange! Ready for our last big date?”

“Our last? Don’t be silly, we’ll see each other all the time at college.”

“I know, but it’s our last date as teenagers. Feels like a big deal.”

“You’re so sentimental.”

“What are we taking pictures for, anyway?”

“It’s a memento! So we’ll always remember our highschool years together.”

“Pfft. Now who’s being sentimental?”

“Hey, Dustin. Think you could stop flaunting your happy-coupledom in front of us singletons?”

“Nah.”

“Jerk.” Ripp was smiling, though.

“Hey, Ange? Thanks for never giving up on me.”

“Hello, Angela. Just came to check you and your father are doing okay.”

“I’m doing fine. I finally nailed your comfort soup recipe the other day!”

“That’s wonderful, honey. Does that mean you’ve developed a family secondary?”

“Yeah!”

It was finally time for Angela to head to college. For her it was a relief, but Daniel had never felt more lonely. This big house, all to himself?

So, of course, he invited Kaylynn over.

He was thinking about getting more serious with her. He was a romance sim, yes, but he wasn’t some insatiable monster. If Mary-Sue had been home more often, been more affectionate, been a better wife… well, maybe he wouldn’t have strayed the way he did.

Kaylynn was maybe his ideal woman. He was still too scared to move forward with her, but maybe… maybe someday soon.

“I gotta go to work, thanks for having me over. It was nice seeing you again.”

“Call in sick! I want to take you out.”

“No can do. But maybe Saturday night?”

“Can’t wait.”
