Gameplay Neighbourhoods
There are a lot of different ways to play the Sims 2! Each "neighbourhood" is its own save file, with its own characters, builds, and themes. Some of them also have very different mod setups, or different rulesets to make gameplay more varied and interesting. No matter what neighbourhood I'm playing, I always like weaving my gameplay into some form of a story, and the format of these stories also varies from hood to hood!
You can read all about my different neighbourhoods, how I play them below, and catch up on their stories below.
Useful Links
People often ask where I get my custom content or what type of rules I play with. These are different for each neighbourhood, and some hoods have dedicated pages with this info! But to make things easier, here's a master list:
- Spruceburg Modlist - a big list of mods and custom content I use in my Maxis-Match gameplay, as seen on YouTube.
- 8 Baby Challenge mods & cc - specific mods I used for the 8 baby challenge, along with some goth-y CC for Lilith Pleasant.
- Medieval mods/cc - my essential mods & CC for a medieval game.
- My BACC Rules - I use these for Hollyhead!
- Spruceburg gameplay guidelines - I wrote these for Spruceburg, but I think it explains my philosophy when it comes to TS2 gameplay in general.
- Custom Neighbourhood Guide - Guide I wrote over on Tumblr about making a custom neighbourhood from scratch. Geared towards sharable neighbourhoods, but there's a lot of general advice there too.
- Decorating tips - I've shared decorating tips on Tumblr a few times, so I have a tag for it.
- Tumblr FAQ - if you have other questions, maybe they are answered here!
My Builds & Downloads
As well as actually "playing" the game, my other favourite thing to do in the Sims 2 is build! I really enjoy building and renovating lots without using custom content - it adds to the challenge, which can be fun, and makes it easier to share lots. I've also made a couple of completely custom neighbourhoods, with their own storylines, which you can also download and play. Please check these out over at my Downloads page! - which serves kind of like my build "portfolio"!
