Pleasantview, Season 3 - Burb

The Burbs are all about the boogie.

Of all the teens to pass by, it had to be a bunch of couples! Alex and Beau were Lucy’s friends, but she always felt like such a third wheel when Meadow and Ivy were around.

Lucy’s job as a security guard kept her busy and kept her up late at night, but it was worth it. If she was going to be a criminal mastermind someday, she’d need to learn a thing or two about how to get past security guards. Working for the opposition was research. Plus, the pay was good.

John and Jennifer’s marriage was still going okay. John wished Jen was home more often, but what could he do? Whatever her mysterious job was, she seemed devoted to it and was earning them a lot of money.

Still, whenever they had a private moment together they’d flirt mercilessly, and they still managed to fit woohoo in almost every day. He couldn’t ask for more, could he?

Jennifer’s “mystery job” is, coincidentally, the same one her daughter hopes to enter when she’s older. Neither of them have any idea.

John had always got along better with women than he did with men. He’d recently befriended Bella Goth, for example. Then there were John’s friends from work, Bianca and Brandi, were both single, and very attractive. He wasn’t entirely oblivious to that fact that they had crushes on him, either. But although he enjoyed spending time with him, he tried to keep things platonic.

Still, occasionally he’d catch himself fantasizing them. About marrying a woman he worked with, could spend the whole day with, and could have lots of children with.

“Have I put on weight, recently?”

“You look fantastic to me, hon.”

“Yes, but have I put on weight?”

“I dunno, maybe a bit? It suits you, though,” his face lit up, “hey! Maybe you’re pregnant?”

“Yeah, hmm… maybe!” God, I hope not, she thought to herself.

Yet despite her conviction that she wouldn’t get pregnant again, wouldn’t let herself, Jennifer felt a familiar sickness one night…

Shit, shit, shit! She knew no birth control method was 100% but, shit!

John would be over the moon, of course. As far as he knew, they’d been trying to have a second child for years. There was no way he’d let her give up a baby.

What was she going to do?
