Widespot, Season 2 - Hart

What’s Penny in formalwear for? You guessed it, a wedding!

And a lovely one it was going to be, even if the guests took their time sitting down. (Didn’t they always?)

Homer looked the other way, almost unable to bear the sight. The man couldn’t be much younger than him, for Christ’s sake, and this had all happened so quickly.

Not that he wasn’t happy for her. He was glad his daughter was marrying someone she chose, and their son would grow up in house full of love, but still…

He was going to miss her so much.

“Are you happy, Val?”

“A beautiful woman swearing to love and care for me in my elder years? ‘Course I’m happy. I love you, Mary. You’ve made me the happiest I’ve been since Angel died, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make you happy, too.”

I really liked how most of the people on one side wore pink. Shame about the glitchy Zs, though.

“So, when’s the honeymoon? It’ll be cool to have the place to myself for a change.”

“We can’t afford a honeymoon.”

“What? Dang.”

Wedding chatter! It warms my heart seeing Beulah and Homer canoodling in that corner.

When the guests have gone home, Mary and Val decide to finish their wedding in style. It’s the same couch they had their first kiss on so it’s, uh, romantic.

Candy is still furious with Mary over their fight, and immediately decides to take advantage of living in a megahood & move out, taking baby Rose with her. She’ll be moving in with somebody as a roommate, but I’ll keep who as a surprise for now!

Rhett still makes time for romance while Val and Mary are enjoying their “honeymoon”. He likes seeing his Pa’ happy and he’s getting used to Mary being the one making him happy, but he’s still pretty sure that whole marriage thing isn’t for him.

Luckily, Penny and him are on the same wavelengh.

“So, I’m thinking of getting a job in the police force with Dad. You think Val will mind?”

“Well, someone in this house has to start earning some money now Candy’s gone and Pop’s retired, and I’d rather it wasn’t me!”

Mary and Val’s son Pride Land is still a Land, even though they got married. I’m too attached to the pun to change it.
