Widespot, Season 2 - Beech (part 2)

“So, Mom’s dead.”
“I know.” Sandy paused. “It’s my fault.”

“Don’t be ridiculous, it’s not your fault. If anything it’s mine, I shouldn’t have sent her away, I just didn’t realize she was getting so, so old… God, she was probably going senile, that explains all the horrible things she was saying about you.”

“No! No, those things she said were all true! Mini’s your daughter but, but she’s biologically Rhett’s, I’m sure of it! And I fought her, I mean she started the fight but it was still my fault, and I probably really hurt her, maybe even killed her myself…”
“Wait…

what???”

“So the whole time I was defending you, against my own mother, you were laughing behind my back? You really were fucking Rhett?”

“It wasn’t like that, Ham! It was a mistake-”

“A mistake? A mistake is doing something once. You deceived me for years, Sandy! And I’ll bet you never stopped screwing Rhett, either.”

“Ham, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have lied, but Mimi really loves you, and-”

“Mimi? Mimi is nothing to do with me. I want you to take that child and get out of my house, before my kids wake up.”

“No, you can’t mean that! I’m your wife, this isn’t like you!”

“Out. Now.”

Virginia and Rocky werre both woken up by the commotion, and cautiously head downstairs. Their mother’s already gone, and they end up playing kicky bag together for about 4 hours, trying to process everything that’s happened. They weren’t ever all that close as siblings before, but realize they’re going to need each other’s support.

“Don’t worry, things’ll turn out okay!”
Rocky and Ginny exchange a doubtful look.

Hamilton is too depressed by everything that’s happened to throw a decent party, and ends up going to bed halfway through.
Penny shoving Junior off her made me laugh! Poor Junior.

Hamilton decides to campaign for a different senator, but things go amok when he assumes she’ll be just a much of a go-getter as his late mother. Deciding he’s done with the political game, he retires.
Politics were never really his thing anyway, in all honestly. it was his mother’s dream, not his.

Virginia’s still in good enough shape to throw a decent party, though! She heads off to college happy she’ll be able to see old friends like Tank and Juliette more regularly. She hopes her and Dixie will get assigned to the same dorm!
