Strangetown, Season 2 (Autumn) - Beaker
Next up: Strangetown.
“What are those Curiouses up to, now?”
“I don’t know. I thought you said you didn’t spy on them!”
“I don’t!!! Does this telescope look like it’s pointed at their house?”
“No, but this one does”, Nervous thought to himself, but he didn’t like to say anything.
“Loki!!!!!!!” shrieked a voice downstairs.
“Do you think it’s the baby?” asked Nervous, but Loki was downstairs before Nervous had even had the chance to look over.
“Yes! An heir to the Beaker estate.”
“It’s a girl.”
“Awwww, nuts.”
“Watch it, Darling. Is there something disappointing about a female heir?”
“Uh, no.”
“Good. We’re calling her Calypso.”
“Is it here? Has the baby been born?” Nervous was a family sim, and almost seemed more excited about the new child than Loki.
“Yes, Nervous. You’ll look after Calypso whilst Loki and I are at work tomorrow, won’t you?”
“Sure. It’s my day off, anyway.”
“Erin!”
Nervous was feeling more and more awkward about the arrangement between him and Erin. Were they in a relationship? He wasn’t sure if that was what he wanted, or not. Erin was pretty, and funny, and kind, and he wanted to have a big family like Pascal’s some day, but… he didn’t know. This stuff was confusing.
“You have to see the baby. She’s so cute! Circe called her Calypso.”
“That’s pretty. Show me the way, I want to meet my niece!”
Nervous was Calypso’s primary carer, and he loved it.
That wasn’t to say Loki wasn’t fond of his little heir. He was quickly coming around to the idea of having a little girl, and was developing a strong attachment to the idea of having a young protegee.
He wasn’t exactly prepared for his wife to become pregnant again quite so soon, though!
But hey, he wasn’t complaining. The idea of Circe carrying his child inside her kind of turned him on.
“Honestly, Nervous!!! You ruined my experiment.”
Nervous was a babysitter now, but his work as a test subject wasn’t over just yet. They were giving him free boarding, after all, so he had to do his share.
Loki might have been more interested in having children now, but he hadn’t wanted… this.
God, he wished he’d kept his telescope pointed at the Curious house.
What was he going to do?
