Sim State University, Season 2, Part 2 (Bright, Fraternity, Sorority)

Things were going better for fellow nerdy/chubby couple over at SSU, Jane Stacks and Martin Ruben. They started flirting up a storm as soon as I loaded their lot! (Before I had the chance to make them over, even!) But both of them were to find they had competition…

The Urele-Oresha-Cham house was a crowed one, with a membership of five.

There was Joshua Ruben, a clueless jock who couldn’t say no to a pretty face. He was Martin’s brother and though the two weren’t on bad terms, as such, they tended to avoid each other.
There was Ashley Pitts, the richest and smarmiest member of the house. Outwardly charming, but those who knew him best knew that he was a complete douchebag.
There was Kevin Beare, who was convinced he’d never be able to be able to find a girlfriend due to his weight, oblivious to the fact that almost every girl on campus thought he was cute.
There was Castor Nova, the most pretentious member of the house, and the only one who didn’t enjoy sports. He didn’t really get along with his housemates, and they mostly accepted him because they knew his pretty-boy looks would help attract girls.
Finally, there was newbie Aldric Davis, who was hoping to get some distance from his insufferable prat of a twin brother. He’d always wanted to be part of a big party house, but now that he was here he was a little overwhelmed.

I’m using @jodeliejodelie‘s makeovers of the frat and sorority, btw! They’re gorgeous. I couldn’t resist putting a piano outside again like in the original house, though. I like to think the boys bought a piano, got it as far as the front garden, then realized it was too big to fit through their front door and thought “eh, fuck it.”

Jane had always thought of herself as an ugly duckling, and finding herself popular at the frat gave her a huge boost in confidence. Hey, she wasn’t fat after all! Or okay, she was, but it turned out it didn’t matter! She was sexy!

“So, want to have dinner with me Monday night?”
“Look, Ash, you’re a lot of fun, okay? I like woohooing with you, but let’s not make this something it’s not.”

Castor Nova has a romance secondary and lot of casual woohoo. Allegra’s
his favorite girl, probably. They’re friends with benefits, but with an
equal emphasis on the friends part.

“So, want to head upstairs?”
“Maaaaaaybe- oh!! Hey Martin! Talk later, Ash,” she ran over to the other boy, “hi there, cutie! Didn’t think you were gonna make it.”

“Me neither, but, uh, Allegra and Jane wanted me to come along, so-”
“I’m so glad, I wanted you to come along, too! Let me get you a drink. Stay right here, got it?”
“Um, okay.”

More party pictures! The new faces on campus were all invited, too.

“You lost track of nerd boy, then?”
“Martin.”
“Whatever. He probably shouldn’t have even been here, I don’t know who invited him.”
“If you don’t stop bad-mouthing him, I’m putting my clothes back on.”
“All right, all right! Chill, babe. What are you interested in a guy like that for, anyway?”
“I think he’s cute! Now let’s get on with this, I don’t want to be in the same room as you any longer than necessary.”

Oh yeah, and the third person to get lucky at the toga party was Kevin! Tiffany and him had been friends for a long time, and their friendship was starting to blossom into something more.

“So, which boys do you think are cute? I didn’t see you flirting with anyone at the party!”
“Uh, Castor’s pretty hot but he’s always so busy with all the other girls…”
“Well, you should ask him out! He’d say yes. I think he likes you.”
“Easy for you to say, everyone says yes to you.”

Brittany isn’t actually too interested in boys but no way is she telling her sisters that! Her fall from grace at high school when people found out about her was the worst time of her life, and she is not going to experience that again.

Heather knows people think she’s slutty, and she’s okay with that. Woohoo is fun, and last time she checked, fun was a good thing! No, Heather’s approach to relationships is no secret.
Her secret? She’s a closet nerd, and dreams of becoming a video game designer some day.

Tiffany’s not into the whole drama thing, or keeping secrets. She likes to party as much as the next girl but, you know, not too hard. She’s focused on her studies, self improvement and wants to be the very best at everything she does.
That Castor Nova sure is charming, though…

Tiffany bumps into Castor on her way to class, but despite the temptation, heads on after greeting him (with a kiss!) Castor isn’t too perturbed, and starts chatting up another girl he sees passing by.

“Hey, cheerleader!”
“Hi.”
“You’re Goldie, right? From the party.”
“Um, yeah, that’s me.”
“I didn’t know you were on the cheer squad, too! That’s so cool!! Listen, we’ve been looking for some new members. If you wanna go in and check out the house, you’re more than welcome!”

Heather’s glad to have caught Goldie, but she doesn’t spend much time showing her around once she spots Castor Nova loitering outside.

Everyone’s pretty casual about folks woohooing in the hot tub right next to them. College, I guess! Dixie’s both impressed by and desperately attracted to Heather.

“I don’t know, Martin’s different from the others. I know I could probably have any guy I wanted-”
“So modest!”
“It’s true! But yeah, I don’t know. I’m just so into Martin but I think I keep scaring him away. Maybe he’s intimidated? Or does he think I’m stupid? Am I too blonde?“

“It sounds like you might be in love with him.”
“Eh?”

“So I’m on the cheer team but I want to be a pro athlete like Dad someday so I’m joining up with the girls’ basketball, too.”
“Who’s your dad?”
“Valentine Hart!”

“Oh my God! I used to watch all his games! And it’s so cool to finally meet a girl who’s into sports. Heather and Tiff, well, they’re pretty… exercise-avoidant. Want to play ball?“
“Sure!”

“OW!”
“Shit, sorry, I just noticed I’m late for class. See ya later!”

“Can you get out? I’m trying to study here.”

I’ve noticed Goldie always seems distinctly unimpressed with people’s romantic affairs. I guess it reminds her of her embarrassing family! Not that she’s uninterested romance herself, but watching other people stumble around just makes her cringe.

Goldie becomes good friends with Brittany at the toga party, and ends up pledging!

More toga party action!

Heather keeps her love life going strong, despite her growing feelings for Martin. She knows she has to take things slow with him, but damnit, a romance sim has needs!
Castor obviously knows about her whole “secret gamer” thing.

The Bright household!

Martin and Jane’s relationship is going strong, and they recently agreed to go steady. They’ve both got other people interested in them and have had some brief flirtations, but they decided what made them happiest was being with each other.

Allegra’s not too thrilled with becoming the third wheel in her own home, but it’s not the end of the world. She likes to spend time by herself. I have her playtest a bunch of lots for me, since she’s got the free time. I made the old tower into an astronomy/art studio/reading area, and converted one of the shops in the shop row into a laundrette, so the sims have a good way to build cleaning skill for class.

Jane’s starting to really fall for Martin, and is secretly hoping he’s going to propose before she graduates.

They go on a date, knowing her graduation is looming. No proposal but they sure have fun!

Unrelated, but I caught Jessie Pilferson smooching Loren Tricou! Cute!

Dixie’s the next to pledge, and she’s quickly joined by BFFL Virginia. I wasn’t originally planning on having all the Widespot girls together, but here we are!

Cheerleaders rushing over to cheer sims during woohoo always cracks me up. That’s Joshua Ruben that Heather’s in the hot tub with, her nerd-love’s twin brother, which is pretty… well… okay, Heather!

Heather might not be that serious about Castor, but she’s still pretty ticked off when Tiffany sleeps with him. Like… without asking her? Rude!

In an attempt at revenge, she flirts with Tiffany’s guy Kevin, which seems to enrage Castor in turn!
For sims that are supposedly all about the free love they’re both acting pretty petty, jealous and hypocritical, but emotions can be like that sometimes.

Brittany’s pal Ellen Frost just broke up with her girlfriend, and asked her out! Since Brit’s in the closet, of course the date takes place at the much more gay-friendly Le Tour campus.

“Baby can’t you see? You’re the one for meeeee~”
“Em, uh, maybe not now? I’m kind of on a date.”
“A date? Oh, okay.”

“Who was that?”
“Oh, that’s Emily. She’s my friend but… I don’t know, she has trouble taking a hint. Just because me and Jade just broke up doesn’t mean I’m ripe for the picking!”
“You’re not?”

“Well, I am, but not for her.”
“Ouch!”

“C’mon, let’s get outta here.”
“Your place or mine?“
“My place is inhabited by 5 other girls with zero concept of privacy, and may or may not be homophobic. Yours.”

The new girls were fitting in just fine.

...With one exception. Dixie and Tiffany have really taken against each other for some reason!

Oh yeah, and Heather’s still angry with Tiffany too, and is screwing with her love interest.

Tank Grunt and Sam Thomas take advantage of the hot tub at one party.
I’m still not sure how I feel about these guys as a couple. They’re fine I guess, but I have a couple of other options in mind for Tank and I’m considering writing Sam as a trans character which I dunno if a semi-bigot like him could handle, so I dunno! We’ll see.

“Night, cutie! Thanks for coming.”
“Thanks for inviting me!”

Heather bumped into Martin outside the house and decided to ask him on a proper date. Generally she didn’t date much but, well, Martin was special!
Then Jane came by, and the shit hit the fan.
