Pleasantview, Season 2 (Autumn) - Oldie, part 2
“Ugh, I forgot Gran and Gramps lived in this dump.”
“I’ve had it with your attitude, Lilith. I am barely holding it together, I do not need you making stupid wisecracks-”
“What’s all the ruckus? Mary?”
“Hi, Mom.”
“Daniel cheated on me, Pop. Twice. I’ve had it, and I’m leaving him.”
“Oh, petal…”
“Can I stay with you? Just while I get myself together.”
“Of course you can, Mary. Take as long as you need.”
Mary-Sue had met a handsome man at work, but they were taking things slow. He’d yet to visit her at home, and they hadn’t gone on any dates.
“So, Ally! The wife and I are interested in getting into the public-sex-and-swinging game, if that’s your kind of thing.”
“It most certainly is!”
“Ha! I knew I’d find you here.”
“What brings you to Strangetown, Lil?”
“What else but my favourite wannabe-punk? I don’t know, I needed to let off some steam. Where’s the rest of the gang, anyway?”
“Well, punch away, I can take it. Johnny and Phi are off on some date thing.”
“Lame.”
“I know. Ow! You hit pretty hard, for a girl.”
“So Mom just went nuts and now I’m living with her and the grandparents in some shitty trailer.”
“At least you got the choice to go with her! I’d give anything not to be stuck with my asshole dad.”
“Oh yeah, shit! I’m sorry.”
“Come on, this place bites. Let’s head Downtown.”
“Oh, yeah, baby! DJ Lilith in the house!”
“Shut up, Ripp. I’m about to blow your mind with this track.”
“...How come, though? You know your sister’s banging Dustin?”
“Yes, God, you never shut up about it! Not everything has to be a contest between me and Angela.”
“I didn’t mean it like that.”
“Yeah, I know. Why are you always so interested in people’s love lives, anyway?”
“I dunno. Jealousy, I guess?”
“What, from Mister Ladykiller?”
“Come on. You know that’s just a front, right?”
“I know.”
“I haven’t even had my first kiss yet.”
“Seriously?”
“Come on, loser. If you’re that desperate, I’ll kiss you.”
“What, no!”
“Come on, like this woe-is-me shit isn’t just an attempt to get a pity-smooch.”
“What about Dirk?”
“Dirk doesn’t own me.”
“Wow, that was awful!”
“Well, excuse me! Unlike you assholes, I haven’t been getting in practice every other night.”
“Too a night well spent!”
“Haha, spent.”
“Ughhhhhh I hateyousomuch.”
When Herb invited Mortimer over, Morty certainly hadn’t been expecting… whatever this was.
But he was a little intrigued.
“Sorry we freaked you out the other day. Herb and I have been doing a spot of experimentation.”
“Ah. Well, I am a scientist, Coral. Let me know if you need help with any experiments.”
“Hmmm. In that case…”
“Psst, Morty?”
“Yes?” Mortimer whispered.
“We’re here for public woohoo, not to play poker with your shewish Great-Aunt.”
“Ah, yes. Let’s head to the backroom while she’s distracted, shall we?”
“Do you think Dina would have minded?”
“On the contrary, I think Dina would have encouraged it. She wouldn’t want me to stay celibate for the rest of my ever-shortening lifespan.”
Herb gets in on the action too, of course.
Coral keeps a detailed record of all their exploits.
Mary-Sue finally brings Gerald, from work, over to meet her parents. For the first time in her life, she makes a 3-bolt connection!
Lilith could not believe this was her life now????
“Ugh, thank God you’re here. My family is driving me nuts!”
“I know something that’ll cheer you up.”
“What?”
“Pillow fight!”
“You’re pretty tense, too, Dirk. Something on your mind?”
“I don’t know. Dad’s stressing me out.”
“Come on, your Dad is like, the chillest guy ever.”
“Yeah, but he’s really stressed about money. I wish I could do more to help.”
“You already do plenty! Come here, you.”
“I gotta go. Dad’s been up at all hours lately doing these late-night paint sessions, he’ll notice I’ve snuck out.”
“Boo, you suck. Give me a quick kiss, and I’ll let you go.”
“…”
“Hey! That wasn’t a ‘quick’ kiss!”
“Are you complaining?”
“No. Do it again.”
