Pleasantview, Season 2 (Autumn) - Dreamer, part 2

“Pardon me, but you happened to catch my eye… would you be willing to sit for me?”

“What, like an artist’s model?”

“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking.”

“Oooooh, I’d love to! I’m a bit of an artist myself, maybe you can hop over to Strangetown and sit for me, sometime, too? The girls I live with never offer and when I try to get them to they just wont stay still…”

“What’s so funny?”

“I’m sorry! It’s just so weird, being painted. I feel so self-conscious.”

“Try not to. You look fine.”

“It’s not how I look that’s the problem! I know I look great, I just don’t know how to pose. How about this?”

It was a bit overly dramatic, almost Shakespearean. Oddly, it suited her.

“Do you need a break, yet? You’ve been standing still a while.”

“Please! I really need to stretch, haha. How about a water balloon fight outside?”

“It’s mid-autumn…”

“Yeah, and I don’t see you putting a shirt on! Come on, it’s sunny! Let’s have some fun outdoors.”

“So, I don’t usually do this kind of thing…”

“Me neither!!! But isn’t it exciting? I like to push my comfort zones, you know? Makes me feels more alive.”

Afterwards, Erin heads downstairs, and finds herself getting overly invested in the plot of some video game.

Other people to sit for Darren included: his son Dirk, and his friend Jenny.

“I could do one of you and Lilith together sometime, if you like.”

“I don’t know, Dad. Seems kind of embarrassing!”

Dirk’s relationship with Lilith was still going strong. He was hoping they’d continue into college.
