Widespot, Season 1 (Spring & Summer) - Part 1
Next up: one of my favourite families, the Harts!
I’ve tried to make this iteration of Widespotians look a bit different to the previous one.
The very first want Val rolled was to fall in love with Penny. Looks like my Valentines are always destined to be dirty old men! Honestly.
I didn’t get pictures, but they fell in love almost immediately, and headed for the bedroom. Looks like there’ll be a lot of drama right off the bat…
I decided to keep Goldie’s “cheerleader” look this time around! She spends a lot of time looking in the mirror. Gussying up, checking herself out, practising romance, you name it!
Rhett and Val having a giggle over fellow Romance sim Woody’s romantic failures. Not cool, guys!
Some more misc pictures of the first weekend with the Harts. These folks really love their mirrors! All rolling wants to practice romance (except Rhett, who weirdly wanted to work on his public speaking!)
Unlike my other Rhett, this one isn’t confined to Widespot alone. He wasted no time getting acquainted with all the ladies Sim State had to offer! (The state itself, not the university, haha. I’m imagining all the antics of this megahood taking place within one geographically diverse state.)
(Cassandra is wise to look put off. You’ve already had one scoundrel get you pregnant, Cassie! Let’s not go for number 2.)
Candy has wants for both rich and Junior, but she has more with Junior so I have her ask him on a date. It goes pretty well!
I was sort of hoping to do something different with Candy this time around (I’m pretty into the idea of her moving Downtown and living on date rewards) but her and Junior are genuinely cute together. For now…
He leaves her to sleep after the round of woohoo, but is instantly on the scene when he hears her going into labour, and runs to help. They call the baby Rose Hart. (He doesn’t have any plans to marry her just yet, after all!)
That same night, Valentine invites over Mary. Which seems to upset a certain someone…
Scaring Candy into dropping her baby??? Yikes, Angel! Good thing auntie Goldie is here!
Candy sits down to catch her breath, and finds herself face to face with Mary. The two don’t get along usually, but when they confide in each other they find they have a few things in common. Junior, babies, and an older man!
The kids all gather together in the kitchen and play with baby Rose and- woah, Angel!
I barely ever saw her in my old hood, but this version of her really means business.
Angel is displeased with her family, very displeased! She pops up to say hi from time to time and they always go shitting themselves in terror! What about a hello or something? And what’s up with Candy’s parenting skills??? She can’t believe she left her granddaughter lying on the floor like that all night while she did what, fuck around in a bathtub? Oh, if Angel were still alive…
I moved the Weiss family on top on the hill so that they’d get a better view of the stars, and be a bit more “out of the way”.
Woody and Penny are so cute! Favourite sims.
Woody has a bunch of wants to make best friends with Ginny and get that first kiss, so I let him give things with her one more shot.
Penny tells Rhett about the baby over the phone. He doesn’t come running, but it seems to be a happy enough phone conversation. I think this Penny is going to be a lot more casual about sex and relationships. She just really loves people!
Woody was going to stay loyal to Ginny, honestly, but, well…
He was visiting Strangetown (hearing there were other half-aliens in the school there!) and he bumped into Beatrice Monty. She was… enchanting.
More Woody and Beatrice. They seem really taken with each other!
They’re also both romance sims, I believe!
Penny’s baby arrives! No Rhett, but she’s surrounded by a loving and helpful family. It’s a boy, which they call Street.
Weiss tries to give the kids a talk about ~love~ over dinner, but he doesn’t exactly have a lot of experience there, and isn’t massively helpful.
It’s a Beech round, and everyone’s playing happy families… for now.
“Yeah, it looks like Mom’s pregnant again… so gross… I know, right? It’s gonna suck having a new baby… Ha, true! Having Tybalt for a brother must suck worse… Oh! Gotta go, Rocky’s home. Looks like he’s bought your cousin back with him. No, you know, the little girl with the short hair?… Yeah, Ariel, that’s the one! See ya later.”
Ariel Capp was quite the hit with the whole family, and her and Rocky were quickly best of buds!
“Yes, Sandy getting knocked up again is the big news. Honestly, I’m a little jealous. Haven’t had sex in years!”
“Hah! It’s not too late, y’know.”
“True. But I don’t have a lot of time for that carry on. Someone’s gotta hold this family together!”
“Hey, woman. Just because you’ve got yourself knocked up again, doesn’t mean you can lounge around the house all day. The neighbours are coming over today for a party, and they don’t need to see you looking like that.”
“We’re having guests? Why didn’t you tell me? I’ve got to clean-”
“I’ll handle that. You just go upstairs and make yourself look presentable.”
Sandy hoped the dress was okay. The lady of the house frowned on bright, feminine colours, but, well, Sandy was pregnant! She didn’t fit into any of the smart clothes Daytona had bought her right now.
“Come on kids, out of the jim-jams. Gran’s hosting a party.”
“Again?”
“Yes, Rocky, again.”
“I don’t know why you’re complaining! I love parties. Ooooh, is that Scott??”
“Ginny, get changed first-”
“Just a sec, Mom!”
The party was a roaring sucess, even though Sandy ended up sneaking back into her PJs when Daytona’s back was turned. Even Rocky, quieter than the rest of his family, managed to sneak in some fun!
“Sandy! Where have you gone?”
“I’ll be down in a second, Mrs Beech!!”
“Well hurry up, we’re having cake! What’s taking you so long?”
“I… I think I’m going into labour.”
“What?”
“I said I’m having the baby!”
“She’s beautiful, darling. What are you going to call her?”
“What am I going to call her? Don’t you want a say, Ham?”
“Well. Ma’ named Ginna, and I named Rocky. Seems only fair you get to pick the name for our newest!”
Daytona let out an unsatisfied grunt, but nodded. “I suppose that’s reasonable.”
Wow. Sandy hadn’t even considered what she wanted to call her new daughter, having just, well, assumed Daytona would be naming her. “How about… Mimi?”
Daytona rolled her eyes, “it sounds like a bimbo’s name. Can’t you think of anything more elegant?”
“I think it’s lovely,” Hamilton interjected, “Mimi Beech.”
Sandy was touched to hear Ham sticking up for her. God, she didn’t deserve him. Maybe she should… tell him the truth? But, well, Mimi might be his daughter. There was a chance! And she didn’t want to deprive her of a father.
Yes, she told herself. The deception was for her daughter’s sake. Hamilton must never know.
“Come on dear, you must see the new baby-”
“Ew, no thanks. Babies are gross! I’m going to the make out spot with Dixie and Scott.”
“The make out what?”
“Later, Gran!”
Something else that happened at the Beech party…
I had so much hope for this version of Junior, too! We’ll see how this goes.
Meanwhile, at the Mannsion…
“Mmmm, that was nice.”
“You know, if you moved in we could do this whenever we felt like it.”
“Hah! With Rose howling through the night? You’re lucky I’ve got time to do it, ever.”
“I’m a lucky guy, yeah. How is Rose, anyway?”
“She’s okay. Pop’s taking care of her today, so you’ve got me all day.”
“Oh, uh. Actually, I’ve got work today!”
“Work? You?”
“Yeah. Gotta provide for my kid! Also, Daddy said if I didn’t start contributing, he’d kick me out. Says it’ll teach me the value of money.”
“Your Daddy’s a wise man!” Candy smirked. “Okay, hard worker. I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“You got it.”
Lana was fed up with sitting around the house all day. When they were in the city, great, she could spend all day hanging out with friends, but out here? Nope, boring as sin.
So, she decided to get a little more involved in the family business. She knew perfectly well what her husband did for a living, and what better way to take care of him than to help him out at work?
Lately, of course, Rich had insisted Junior join the business too, so that meant the three of them were all hard-working criminals!
Lana was worried Rich was going to be mad at her for joining him at work, but Rich was thrilled.
Junior befriended one of the other new recruits in the business, some kid called Nervous. Yeah, what kinda a name was Nervous? The guy was jumpy, and Junior couldn’t help wondering whether crime was the right job for him. He had the look, sure, cool mohawk and all, but still.
Junior, though? Yup, this was definitely the job for him! He spent lots of time reading up on how to be a success, so he could make his Daddy proud.
“Look, that was one time… and you won’t be getting a penny out of me! … You’re no friend of mine, little miss! … I don’t care, the answer is still no… (Shut up, will you, the wife is right here)… And don’t call again!”
“Who was that, honey?”
“Some bitch from work trying to cause me trouble. Don’t worry about it, my dear, it’s being taken care of.”
