Year 1 - Spring - Rudhall (Peasant Swineherds)

The final of the peasant homes, a small hovel for the Rudhalls, a family of peasant swineherds.

When Michael’s wife packed up and left, part of him breathed a sigh of relief. He’d always feared commitment and marriage! A good guy at heart, though, Michael’s determined to do right by his kids, come hell or high water.

It was not an easy start for this family, as they needed to sell pigs without thinning out the herd too much, and pregnancies for hogs take forever! Eventually I figured out how to tweak it so they they’re just 3 days, same as sims. The pigs all starved to death at one point too (I forgot to feed them) and I quit without saving, LOL.

But once the family had these issues figured out, it was pretty smooth sailing! They had to sell off more of the herd than was ideal, but hogs are pretty profitable and the spotty pig blessed us with piglets at the end of the round, so Summer should be great for them.

Michael’s lazy and not really the outdoors-y type, but he does love animals and caring for pigs is pretty easy (especially with the kids to help with feeding them) so the swineherd life suits him well. He constantly rolled wants to ask sims on dates, but none of the ladies in town have really caught his eye just yet.

For some reason, wolves were highly attracted to this house! Maybe they’re after the pigs? Or maybe they wanted to eat poor little James. They terrorised Rose too, chasing her all about the pigpen.

Rose is a really neat sim who was always helping about the place, cleaning up dung, feeding the pigs… her little brother is more of a handful (grumpy like his dad) but he and Rose got along well once he aged up, playing nicely together in the mud with the pigs!
