Year 1 - Spring - Glanndour (Yeoman Beekeepers)
The yeoman farmhouse for the Glanndours, a family of beekeepers. I build the house pretty large before realising yeomen are still overall dirt poor and they couldn’t actually have much furniture. So, half the rooms are just empty, whoops!
They have a nice path to the forrest that’s right behind their property, though! They use the forrest for harvesting herbs they don’t grow themselves, and for collecting wild bees :)
The Glanndour family a large and rather troubled family. Bermund’s every bit as unstable as his elderly and humourless father, Lambert. Since losing his wife, he’s been moodier than ever. He wishes he could remarry, find a nice woman to step into the mother role for his girls.
Of the teenage twins, Bryanna’s the capable one, and set out to harvest some wild bees. While in the forrest she stumbled across Finley Dowrick. It seemed like a potentially romantic first meeting to me (they have good chemistry) but they did not get along one bit!
It took a while to get the new bee colonies settled (due to me having problems figuring out the Sun & Moon set), and when they finally started producing honey, one of the hives became infected with parasite and died! That’s life, I suppose… but with very little honey to their name, everyone lacking skill points, and everyone in aspiration failure, they were forced to mostly sell herbs from the garden rather than honey, mead, and candles like I originally planned.
Despite it being an eventful round with plenty of characters, I was so busy trying to keep everyone happy that I did not get many pictures, haha. They did just about manage to fill their tax obligations, but it was seriously tough! I am used to coasting along with gameplay and barely worrying about money, so it’s been an interesting chance of pace, this hood!
Oh, one other thing that happened which had nothing to do with this family - Helen fell in love with Alexander! Most of the teenagers have been so busy they haven’t really had the time to date and fall in love, but she’s evidently determined not to let any of the other teens snap him up. (And just as well, he has 3 bolts with Bryanna!)
